After the event...
We all look forward to "events" in our lives... Usually they come with lots of careful preplanning and organization. But what happens after the event? For example, this summer there are going to be a lot of weddings and no doubt, much planning for those events is going on right now. But what happens when the wedding is over and you find yourself back in the day to day struggles of life? In Luke 24:13-32, we read about two of Jesus' followers who found themselves trying make sense of all that happened to Jesus. How one week the crowds cheered as He road into town as their new king only a week later to be beaten and killed. The Bible records some of the conversation of these two men as they walk along a dirt road. The next few hours proved to be life changing as they sat and had Jesus teach them the Scriptures and Prophecies. What they found was that after the "event" there was still a lot of work to be done. They rolled up their sleeves and started reviewing all they knew and they searched the Scriptures. Their hopeless situation became a very hopeful one. So, with the events of last week still in our review mirror, where do we find ourselves after the event? Easter is always a popular Sunday and it's easy to find somewhere to worship. But what do you do the Sunday after Easter? What will you do tomorrow?

When I get around to it...
We've all wanted to make some changes in our lives. The problem is, there never seems to be a good time to make those changes? This Easter we considered that there's no better time to get a round to it, than today! Thank you to all who helped prepare for this Easter Sunrise Service and our main Service at 10am! |
